Helical Fusion Brings Japan’s Perspective to Global Fusion Dialogue at UK Fusion Forum

On September 15, 2026, Helical Fusion Co-Founder & CEO Takaya Taguchi participated as a panelist at the UK Fusion Forum in London, hosted by the Fusion Industry Association.

The session brought together perspectives from the UK, US, and Japan to discuss how fusion is progressing toward commercialization across different policy and industrial environments.

From Policy to Concrete Collaboration

The discussion covered the latest developments in fusion policy, the evolving roles of public and private players, and practical approaches to public-private collaboration. Panelists also shared concrete examples of partnerships already underway, offering a view into how companies, governments, and institutions are working together as fusion moves closer to deployment.

As moderator Melanie Windridge noted in closing, the specificity of the examples shared during the session itself reflected the growing maturity of efforts toward fusion commercialization.

While different countries are developing their own approaches, the discussion highlighted a common principle: identifying and pursuing the partnerships that are genuinely needed—across borders and across the public and private sectors—can create shared value and accelerate progress across the global fusion industry.
